Kids see relief with ice machine - Alpha House for Boys
Anna Abbot from Alpha House for Boys submitted a request to The Shepherd's Hands a few weeks ago asking for assistance in securing an ice machine for the home. Having so many young men under one roof depletes the meager amounts of ice in the trays of a traditional refrigerator.
On Tuesday evening, Sep 6, 2011, TSH Board of Directors discussed the need and approved the research to be done in order to bring the need to a vote. On Monday, Sep 19, 2011, the board voted to approve the purchase of the ice machine for Alpha house in the amount of $1400.
Carolyn Moss, of TSH Board of Directors, spearheaded the effort and worked with Ken Jeter of Tupelo to get the machine delivered. We appreciate their efforts to insure that this need was met and that the home has a steady supply of ice in future years with a machine that should give them little repair worries.
The Shepherd's Hands has funded projects for Alpha House in the past and is proud to be a part of this project as well. "Love thy brother as thyself" is a common commandment that Jesus spoke of in the New Testament. TSH strives to do that in a small way at every opportunity and give the Glory to God that we were able to help such a worthy charitable organization as Alpha House.
